I’m excited to be joined today by two friends who are both physicians and effective policymakers, Dr. Kavita Patel and Dr. Scott Gottlieb.
Kavita is a Nonresident Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a practicing primary care physician in Washington, DC. She previously served in the Obama Administration where she played a critical role in health reform and economic recovery policies.
Scott served as the 23rd Commissioner of the FDA, where he received bipartisan praise for his visionary, collaborative leadership of the agency from 2017 – April 2019. Dr. Gottlieb previously practiced internal medicine at New York University’s Tisch Hospital, and is now a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.
